Here are five methods of operation that Satan can use to destroy you.
1) Flattery
2) Greed
3) Scripture
4) Love
5) Self-confidence
Flattery is a negative connotation. Wikipedia defines flattery as the act of giving excessive compliments, generally for the purpose of ingratiating oneself with the subject.
In the last days when Satan and his fallen angels are kicked out of heaven to earth, Satan will use flattery to get the world to worship him. He is very subtle and a master of deception. Because the world is biblically illiterate and did not study the seven trumpets, the seven seals, and the seven vials in the book of Revelation; the world will think the Devil is the messiah.
The world will be looking for a messiah to save them from the horrific events taking place (Daniel 12:1 - a time of trouble such as man has never known). Enter the Devil looking just like a messiah and not the Halloween costume of the devil.
Those people who have read their bible will know we are at the sixth trumpet, the sixth seal, and the sixth vial (666) because we will still be in our flesh bodies. The true Jesus Christ comes at the seventh trumpet, the seventh seal, and the seventh vial (777) when we will be changed to a spiritual body in the twinkling of an eye (I Corinthians 15:52).
Revelation 12:7-9
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon (Satan, the Devil); and the dragon and his angels fought,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Warning: Satan's goal is to be worshipped by the world. He wants to appeal to your sense of comfort zone (materialism). If you will worship him and show allegiance to his one world system (one world government, one world religion, one world bank), then he will promise you a comfortable life. He will have your debts forgiven, a chicken in every pot, and a roof over your head. A redistribution of wealth will occur so the world can see the rewards of giving allegiance to the messiah, the Devil (666= the fake messiah).
The Word of God says that Satan deceives the world by entering peaceably and prosperously with flatteries.
Daniel 11:21
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
Daniel 8:24-25
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes (Jesus Christ); but he shall be broken without hand.
Greed is used as an example in Luke 22:1-6. Satan observed Judas and saw that Judas wanted money to get power. Satan used greed to manipulate Judas to betray Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver.
Luke 22:1-6
1Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.
4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money (thirty pieces of silver).
6 And he (Judas) promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
Scripture is used as an example in Matthew 4:1-10. Jesus was tempted by the Devil after he had fasted forty days and forty nights in the wilderness. The Devil knew scripture and knew Jesus was the Son of God. However, he still wanted to tempt Jesus three times by saying, "If thou be the Son of God".
Notice that when the Devil quotes scripture in Matthew 4:6 he twists the words and adds lest at any time when the true scripture that is being quoted in Psalms 91:11-12 says:
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Matthew 4:1-10
1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward hungry.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city (Jerusalem), and set him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Love is used as an example in Matthew 16:21-23. Satan observed Peter and knew how much Peter loved Jesus. Satan used Peter's love to try to stop the crucifixation by convincing Peter that he could interfere and save Jesus from any harm. Jesus being the Son of God did not need Peter to save him. Satan influenced Peter's thinking to be carnal and not spiritual.
Matthew 16:21-23
21From that time forth began Jesus to show unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he (Jesus) turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
Self-confidence is used as an example in I Chronicles 21:1-7.
When we become too self confident, we make mistakes. Satan likes to play with our thinking by making us believe we are invincible and can do anything. David won his battles only if he prayed to God and had His blessings.
I Chronicles 21:1-3,7
1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.
2 And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.
3 And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?
7 And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel.
